Dragons, dragons, everywhere

As some of you know we have Bearded Dragons. These are a lizard native to the Australian desert. Our female, Tang, is a really pretty orange lizard. And her "boyfriend" Romeo is a pale salmon/sand color with some really interesting striping on him. She laid eggs and between November 15-20 they hatched. OMG... they were so cute and little. Even then these guys had color, which everyone tells us is pretty unheard of unless they are going to be nicely colored when older. They get more color each time they shed.
Well now it's time for our babies to find new homes!!! We will be at the Reptile Show at the Holiday Inn on 87th and 69 Highway in Overland Park this Sunday, Jan 18, from 10-4. We have 13 babies needing homes. Already sold one to our awesome pet-sitter, Natalie.
These guys & gals are eating really well, and are anywhere from ok to great being handled. Range from 5.5 inches to almost 9 inches long! We are running through 1000 or more crickets a WEEK! Some of them really love the mealworms. They are getting veggies and some fruit. Really like the weird different greens.
We'd love to hear from anyone interested in a baby.
If you have questions about care, go here http://wheredragonsdwell.com/caresheet.html or here: http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/GeneralCare.html then ask us questions. You'll need heat pad, heat light, UVB light, (we use a mercury vapor bulb to accomplish both), a 20 gal. tank (realize you'll end up having to get a 40 or larger later), calcium & vitamin dust to "dust" the crickets, and a few other things like substrate, branches & rocks.
The pics are of the babies except the second picture with the flower behind the dragon. That is Tang, the mom. The lighting isn't the best... but they still look pretty good.

  1. They are just sooo cute!!! I just don't have all the stuff or the energy to get a totally new type of animal for my home. Actually too bad!!! They're adorable!! I called my friend that has all sorts of reptiles and animals and she's going to pass the word as well. Who knows she might end up with one. LOL She says no right now but...... ROFL

  2. I am the lucky owner of the first baby beardie and may i say that he is soooo cute!!!! You all have done a fabulous job of raising the little piggie!!! El Guapo is so much fun to watch, especially when he scurries across the cage to attack crickets! I am looking forward to enjoying him for a long time!

  3. Still dragons available after the show. Didn't seem like there was a lot of business there, or what there was were wholesalers looking to buy them all at stupid cheap prices. Well as stated we really don't want them to spend their lives as breeders. We want them to be loved, interacted with and have a nice quality of life.
If you are interested or know anyone who is having them comment here and we'll get back with them. Thanks.
